Well, the mutt & I were able to get out a few times to fish during June & July. I really don’t have much to brag about, since I was only able to fish the smaller brooks & creeks near me. I caught nothing but small sunfish, tiny small mouth bass and chubs. I should have taken some photos of the chubs, because they were bigger than the sunfish & small mouths. Lol But, it was well worth it to get out of the house and away from the chores. The mutt also had a good time. I’m attempting to teach her to watch the rods and to whine when the rod tips moves. My prior dog was really good at this and taught herself, when we were fishing on the boat. We’ll see if Ellie does as good as Jetty.

Mid day , 76 degrees, sunny, caught 20, with 2 over 4 lbs. Must have been guarding the beds, fish were extremely aggressive, and all males except for the 2 4 lbers

Summer is here and you can escape the heat by kayak fishing under a bridge for slab crappies!
using a small 1/16 oz jig head and 2 inch grub tail, i went to town and slayed them on my Hobie Outback

A friend has been telling me about this place. It has an underground spring that feeds the lake, and they stock it with shad. It is all catch and release. So those fish would "logically" be big. This is just my opinion... Si I tried it out. They are an older couple that own the lake, somI had to talk them into letting me fish at 8am. LOL! So the place is nothing like I expected, based on appearance. But after we got fishing, it was well worth it. I only caught 3 fish, but my buddy caught more than 10! Most around 1 to 2 lbs. Until the end of the day, and I caught this monster!!! I made him jealous! Overall, this place was great! we had the whole lake to ourselves! Definitely recommend this place, if it is close, or you are passing through, try it out! If you have to drive more than 1 hour, I would pass! Just my opinion.
I don't know how to add the picture, so I will just add the photo and label as Lake Silver Springs. Check it out!

Technology has helped anglers tremendously over the years. Weather it be fish finders, underwater cameras or the tech that goes into creating top notch rod and reels. But more recently, there have been a lot of fishing apps coming out that are extremely powerful tools for all anglers. There are apps that provide solunar tables, bass fishing forecasts, help identify fish and teach you how to tie knots. The team at US Fish Finder has also created our own fishing log app to help anglers keep track of their trips and catches in a simple to use interface. The Fish Nuggets App automatically captures location and weather for your catch while you just need to enter the species. The app is currently available as a beta release so make sure to check it out.
