Galen St. Bridge Hour Before Sun Down Fishing Report

3.5 Rating based on 2 Reviews

I went back to the dock pilings to fish the area with my daughter. I wanted to give her a chance catch a bass. We got there about 7:30pm. We started casting the Rebel and the Rapala minnows out just past the dock pilings. My daughter was having trouble with her gear so I was helping with her rig while trying to get in a few casts myself. It was during one of my distracted retrieves that I hooked up with a nice sized yellow Perch. I quickly tried to take a picture of it, unhook it and release it back so that she could have a chance at catching some perch because usually they school up. Just as I get her gear rigged up for action...these two inconsiderate women with a 35mm camera start taking pictures of the water fowl with the flash on. Of course the flash spooked the birds so the took off in a rather noisy manner. Then as if that was not bad enough, they picked up a stick from the river and started beating the water not far from where we where fishing. We move east away from the bridge toward the bend where I saw the big fish the day before. We say a lot of surface splashes but not much action as the sun set on our trip.
