M&M Team Fished At Hog Factory!!!

M&M team was decided to go our hog factory for one big bass. We went to this pond at 5pm to 9pm. We fished several edge point where it is stick out than normal dropoff. we was able to find few of them that still shallow pretty far from shore. Then found those dropoff unlike most dropoff right nearby shore. This is what it was produce well for us. I did pretty well hooked them all without losing any fish. All ranged 2-4 pounds on smallmouth and largemouth bass. Then I caught my biggest smallies of day, 3.2 pounds. that smallies has unbelieveable belly. I just found out that they was starting spawning. since it was fulled of eggs!!! Next couple weeks will be hard fishing!! oh man. Anyway,
I only managed to get 8 bite and landed them all. However, they was very quality fish! Could win tourney with this limit bag. I guessed it was around 14-16 pounds. Meanwhile Bassturds only able to land his only fish for the day: sunfish that attacked his dropshot!!

But on my last catch, 4.2 pounds largemouth bass was nothing more than thrill excitement because we saw three perch exploded surface nearby one of cove. we paddled so hard toward this spot then we saw one of perch group was absolute annihilate! Really huge water splash. I swear it was reaching three feet out of water. I never seen any bass ever did like this. Except saltwater since they are bigger fish to cause that kind of splash when they attacked baitfish. Anyway, I switched to small spoon in my tackle box. Quickly cast to perch. got three before Bassturds was able to do anything. I give him a perch to use as bait. Bassturds was puzzled and look at me said, bass don't eat that big. I just told him, just use it!!!!! then he did listen me and cast it. Not three second later, his line was screaming! Rod is really bend so hard.. I saw this huge bass surfaced before he can able to make huge splash on water. But I wasn't realize that when bass did made splash, bait was pulled out of bass's mouth. Then Bassturds quickly cast again. Boom! same bass smacked his perch! Battle goes again! same result except line broke!! I was hooked up with something big on my line while second battle was going on! But I was able to landed this 4.2 pounds largemouth Bass! It was smacked on small spoon! Lip-hold on it before my spoon pop off from bass's mouth!

  • could've been just a big belly but you could be right. i just know the major spawn spots there and was there throughout and saw them on and then moving off.

they typically don't spawn into june down there but i saw some staging up in N. NH today.

  • All bass are def done spawning they just finished up in NH last week smallies and largemouth spawn pretty much the same exact time

  • Bass spawn can last well into June...

  • smaf - Yeah, largemouth are done. But smallies, I caught three of them with huge girth and I tried to feel it and I could feel soft spot between middle of belly. so I assumed that it was eggs. Not foods.

Also, temperature was 3-7 difference from east side to west side of this lake. That's probably affect the spawn timing. One spot was showing 62 degree and other spot was showing 68-69 degree. This is another reason why I guessed it.

  • FYI. that fish is a post spawn fishing feeding up. i can assure you that they are done spawning there. they were done about 2 weeks ago. bassturds knows, i talked to him not too long ago about it.
