Tried to get some fishing in before the storm rolled through.

Got on the water around 7:30 a.m

Lots and Lots of bait fish activity on the water. Went all along the shorelines, around the bait fish, and finally with a Lipless crank bait I hooked into a 1 1/2 lb smallie. While trolling back to the boat launch hooked into what i like to call the worlds smallest Pickerel lol (See Pic)

Went out to Woods Pond around 3:30pm on Saturday. Nice weather round 75 or so. Got down to where I ice fish this pond to find Lilly pads small animals could walk on everywhere lol. So I spin around and head to the damn area where there is some moving water.

Found a good launch point under a foot bridge, The city had put in a floating plastic dock for canoe and cartops. I began the day by going up towards the river mouth. My step-father caught 4 Perch on big in-line spinners. We move towards the damn.

I changed to a Red/white Inline spinner with Silver blades. Hook into a small Northern Pike (from what i can see anyway). We then decided to troll up and down the open water. I got another yellow perch and a sunny.

A better day of fishing than I expected. Although I did expect to hook into at least 1 bass. They just didn't want to bite the senko that day.

Got down to Onota lake aroud 7:30ish, forgetting that today was live on the lake. (Live bands on stage at lake). So it was crazy. Lake packed with boats, fishing pier packed with minors who were jumping off and swimming.

So i find a parking spot (last one!) and start walking through the woods to one of my favorite spots on the lake. I get to my spot which I call smallie cove. So I start with a rather large inline spinner white tail gold blade. No bites, switch it up to a sunfish colored lipless crainkbait, still nothing.

I decide that well its roughly 8:15-8:20 getting pretty dark 1 last lure than I am out. I put on a blue/white senko wacky rigged on a 4/0 octopus hook. Cast 3-4 times no bites, 5th cast hit i set the hook 10 sec later gone!

Well i get a bite I am not about to get up and leave, so I cast around a bit more. About 3 miinutes later bang another good bite. The fights on! Sally breaks the water...she's a big one. she pulls some more, another breach! I'm excited!

I get her all the way to the rock I am fishing on, oh s***! The rock is about 6 feet above the water....so i get down to water level she is still tugging and pulling, jumps one more time.

I get her to my feet, reach out and.......................SNAP! The worst sound i could possibly imagine.....the line snaps. Good job me remember the net next time lol.

I was using 4lb test this could of been the culprit but hey i spooled the reel with it lol.

Anyway i missed out on a big smallie casted a few more times. No bites. Decided to call it quits and try again another day.

8/7/11 Went out on Richmond Pond at around 5:00 pm on sunday. After getting out on the deep end of the pond the water temp read at 80 degrees. So obviously every fish was deep.

We started to troll around the deep end with some deep diving cranks. No rod holder so we had the poles just lying in the boat. My lure gets hits line wraps around something in the boat before i notice i pull back SNAP!! goes the line.

I re-line and throw another crank bait out. Get a decent yellow perch withing seconds. (Pic will be up when my phone actually sends an e-mail). Switch cranks after a 30-45min period with no hits. (Notice my reel has very little line left on it.) Lure gets hit i pull back to hear SNAP!! all my line had been pulled out and my line snapped at the knot i used to tie it to the reel. DOH!

I got off the lake just in time to avoid a downpoor. Maybe a week worth of rain we are suppose to get will lower the water temps a bit and i remember to buy line for my reel.

Visiting family on Babcock Lake Cabin. Out on Babcock lake for some fishing in 6ft row boat with Trolling motor.

I caught 5 Largemouth through-out the day and 1 fair sized Rock Bass. Sadly my camera battery died before catching the rock bass.
