I belong to the “American Littoral Society” in Highlands, NJ. I’ve been tagging saltwater species for a number of years now. It’s a lot of fun with very little work involved. All you have to do is catch the fish; record the required info; attach the tag; release the fish and send in the recorded info when you get home.

Tag and release data is extremely beneficial for the Marine Fisheries Science and very interesting and rewarding for you. You get to see how far your fish has traveled and big it has grown before being landed by another angler. Sometimes fish are re-caught in a few days and other times it could be months to years.
If you would like to become a member and get involved in the fish tagging program. Contact Jeff at 732-291-0055 or e-mail him at jeff@littoralsociety.org
