Obsession Fishing 11/20/10
We fished with Jack,Lisa,Ed Byron, and Mark today. The morning forecast was for 15 to 20 knots SW with gusts to 35 knots. We had most of that when we left the inlet it was gusting in the low 30’s and we turned north the ride was not too bad. Along the way we hit some bird play about 3 miles up the line. Stopping there produced a few bites and 1 keeper Striper. There was a lot of boats hoping to take advantage of a school of fish close to the inlet to avoid having a long ride back later in less than nice conditions. The large fleet of boats put this school of fish down pretty quick and it fizzled before it started. We picked up and pushed to the north there was a fleet where the bite had been all week we picked a few stripers there and added 2 keepers and several bluefish, then the dog fish took over. We moved up north another 6 miles and only had bluefish and dog fish after an hour or so we started working south with pretty much the same results. The fishing was slower today than it has been for the past few weeks, the group fished hard all day and we covered a lot of ground today more than any other trio this year. After hitting a few stops along the way we went to the inlet to catch the out going tide. This turned out to be a good move all bites were stripers and we added 4 keepers and OF COURSE Lisa caught the biggest Striper of the day. We also released 5 bass there.
Total for the day we kept 7 Stripers Released 5 Stripers
Kept 8 Bluefish released 9 Bluefish.
All in all a good day it required some hard fishing to put a catch together.
